Alpha's DuraDry Wall System has been developed specifically for use in finishing basements. This unique panel system is comprised of a composite mineral board, similar to fiber-cement, and is bonded to 2 1/2 inches of extruded polystyrene insulation. It is installed and finished completely smooth to give the appearance of drywall. Seams are reinforced with fiberglass mesh, coated with special mold and mildew resistant joint compound, and sanded smooth. It can be finished with any interior wall finish. We recommend a special air permeable mold and mildew resistant low VOC paint, but wall paper, tile, stone veneer, and other finishes are available. Should it be required, these panels can be removed and reinstalled. New tape and compound at the joints will be required to restore prior finish.
